A thriving school in Northamptonshire, East Midlands, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide individualised assistance to a primary-aged pupil. This vital role involves supporting a pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairments. We are looking for an individual ready to make an immediate impact, with contract options spanning long-term, daily supply, or permanent engagement, offering a competitive daily rate between £85 and £110. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering the pupil's development and ensuring their successful participation in school life.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated, one-to-one support to a primary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Build a strong, trusting rapport with the pupil to facilitate their engagement and learning.
* Accurately implement targets and strategies outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Collaborate closely with external therapists and specialists to integrate their recommendations effectively.
* Assist the pupil with communication, social interaction, and participation in classroom activities.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to the pupil's individual requirements.
About You
* Possess previous experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly complex requirements such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and a resilient approach to challenges.
* Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective teamwork and pupil interaction.
* Be adept at adapting support strategies to meet diverse individual learning styles and needs.
* Hold a good understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their implementation.
* Show a genuine passion for fostering the development and well-being of young learners.
