A respected school is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join their vibrant primary specialist provision. This crucial role involves providing tailored assistance to primary pupils on the autism spectrum, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will be instrumental in implementing structured routines, developing effective sensory strategies, and enhancing communication support for individual pupils. We are open to various contract types, including long-term, short-term, daily supply, or permanent arrangements, with an immediate start available. The daily rate for this fulfilling position ranges from £90 to £115, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement individualised structured routines to promote pupil engagement and well-being.
* Develop and utilise effective sensory strategies to support pupils within the specialist provision.
* Facilitate and enhance communication, employing a range of appropriate methods for primary pupils with ASD.
* Provide direct classroom support, assisting pupils with their learning and social development.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and adapt support plans.
* Contribute positively to a nurturing and inclusive environment for all pupils.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* Exhibit a genuine passion for making a positive difference in children's educational journeys.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to diverse needs.
* Show a proactive and patient approach to challenging situations, maintaining a calm demeanour.
