About the Role
A dedicated school is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision, supporting secondary pupils with complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This crucial role involves empowering young people to navigate their emotional challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and successfully reintegrate into the learning environment. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and structured atmosphere, enabling pupils to achieve their full potential and thrive academically and personally. This opportunity offers diverse contract lengths, from long-term to daily supply, with the potential for permanent engagement.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored behavioural support and guidance to secondary pupils with SEMH needs.
* Implement effective strategies to promote emotional regulation and de-escalate challenging situations.
* Facilitate pupils' successful reintegration into classroom learning and activities.
* Foster a nurturing and structured environment that encourages positive social interactions.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure holistic pupil development.
* Support individualised learning plans, adapting approaches to meet diverse needs.

About You
* Possess significant experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, preferably within a secondary setting.
* Demonstrate exceptional resilience, patience, and empathy when addressing complex behaviours.
* Hold a genuine passion for making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils.
* Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport effectively with young people and staff.
* Show a proactive approach to problem-solving and adapting to dynamic situations.
* Have a robust understanding of safeguarding practices and a commitment to pupil welfare.
