Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and effective Biology lessons to secondary school pupils across Key Stages 3, 4 and potentially 5.
* Plan and prepare high-quality, differentiated schemes of work and lesson materials that meet curriculum objectives.
* Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
* Maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages pupil participation and academic achievement.
* Contribute to the broader life of the Science department and the school community, participating in extra-curricular activities where appropriate.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching and learning outcomes.
About You
* Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK and a relevant degree in Biology or a related scientific field.
* Demonstrate a strong subject knowledge in Biology and a genuine enthusiasm for inspiring young learners.
* Be an effective classroom practitioner with the ability to manage behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
* Show a commitment to continuous professional development and a desire to contribute positively to a team.
* Exhibit excellent communication skills, capable of engaging pupils, parents, and colleagues effectively.
* Be enthusiastic about developing pupils' scientific literacy and critical thinking skills.
