We are seeking an inspirational SEMH Teacher to join a highly regarded school in East London, specifically within a specialist secondary provision. This pivotal role involves re-engaging disaffected learners, expertly managing complex behaviour, and delivering a modified curriculum designed to meet diverse educational and emotional needs. You will be instrumental in fostering a supportive and structured learning environment where every student can achieve their personal best.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement engaging, differentiated lessons suitable for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
* Proactively manage challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies and interventions.
* Adapt curriculum content and delivery methods to ensure accessibility and relevance for all learners.
* Cultivate a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to enhance student well-being and progress.
* Monitor and assess student attainment and development, providing constructive feedback and reporting on individual achievements.
About You
* You possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and demonstrable experience working with SEMH students at secondary level.
* A proven track record of effectively re-engaging learners who have faced disaffection or significant barriers to education is essential.
* You exhibit exceptional resilience, empathy, and a calm approach when navigating complex behavioural challenges.
* Your ability to plan and deliver a stimulating, modified curriculum that caters to individual learning styles is outstanding.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are fundamental to your practice.
* You are deeply committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable young people.
