About the Role
An inclusive school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide vital assistance to a primary-aged pupil with complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment. This challenging yet incredibly rewarding role involves delivering tailored support to foster the pupil's development and engagement within their learning environment. You will play a crucial part in enabling their full participation and progress within a supportive educational setting.

Key Responsibilities
* Establish a strong, positive rapport with the designated pupil, fostering trust and engagement.
* Effectively implement and monitor personalised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and external therapists to ensure a cohesive support approach.
* Adapt learning materials and environmental provisions to meet specific individual needs.
* Promote the pupil's independence and self-advocacy skills throughout the school day.
* Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to review meetings.

About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and a resilient approach to daily challenges.
* Demonstrate strong communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Hold a comprehensive understanding of EHCPs and their practical implementation.
* Be proactive and adaptable, able to respond dynamically to individual pupil requirements.
* Committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
