We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a highly regarded school in the East Midlands, within Northamptonshire. This vital role involves teaching in a specialist primary setting, focusing on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will be instrumental in building therapeutic relationships with pupils, adeptly managing challenging behaviour, and delivering engaging, tailored lessons that foster academic and personal growth. We are open to discussing various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, or a permanent position, with an attractive daily rate between £150 and £250, available for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum to SEMH pupils.
* Implement effective strategies for managing challenging behaviour in a supportive environment.
* Cultivate strong, therapeutic relationships with pupils, promoting their emotional well-being.
* Tailor teaching approaches to meet the specific SEMH needs of individual learners.
* Assess pupil progress meticulously, providing constructive feedback and reporting.
* Contribute positively to the overall safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
About You
* Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience.
* Demonstrable experience working with primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs, ideally within a specialist setting or PRU.
* Exhibit exceptional resilience, patience, and a calm approach in challenging situations.
* Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive interactions with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Passionate about making a significant difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.
* Committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
