We are actively seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide crucial support to primary pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in a specialist setting. This role involves developing strong relationships, implementing effective de-escalation strategies, and offering dedicated mentoring to foster pupil well-being and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to primary pupils identified with SEMH needs within a specialist environment.
* Implement effective de-escalation techniques during challenging situations, ensuring a calm and safe learning atmosphere.
* Mentor pupils individually and in small groups, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
* Cultivate strong, positive relationships with pupils, acting as a trusted and consistent figure.
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities adapted for individual needs.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to regular assessments and reviews.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEMH challenges.
* You have a natural ability to build rapport and establish meaningful connections with children.
* You are skilled in using de-escalation techniques calmly and effectively.
* You exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in a dynamic educational setting.
* You are a proactive team player with excellent communication skills, collaborating effectively with colleagues and parents.
* You hold relevant qualifications or professional training
