1:1 SEN Support Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join a supportive school in the South East, focusing on primary education. You will provide tailored assistance to a specific pupil with complex special educational needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairments. Your role will involve fostering a strong, positive rapport with the pupil, meticulously implementing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, and working closely with external therapists and professionals. We are seeking individuals available for immediate starts, with contract options ranging from long-term daily supply to permanent positions, offering a competitive daily rate between £85 and £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated, bespoke one-to-one support to a pupil with complex needs.
* Diligently implement all specified targets and strategies outlined in the pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Cultivate a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil to facilitate engagement and progress.
* Collaborate effectively with external therapists, educational psychologists, and healthcare professionals.
* Assist in adapting learning materials and activities to meet the pupil's individual requirements.
* Champion the pupil's inclusion within the school community and promote their independence.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex special educational needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* An empathetic, patient, and resilient approach characterises your professional conduct.
* You exhibit excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential for this position.
