A dynamic school is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join our vibrant community, supporting secondary students within a specialist autism spectrum setting. This crucial role involves facilitating social communication, effectively managing sensory needs, and ensuring full curriculum access for our pupils. We are open to discussing various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, and permanent positions, with an attractive daily rate ranging from £90 to £115. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, contributing positively to our students' educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to secondary students on the autism spectrum within a specialist educational environment.
* Actively facilitate and encourage effective social communication skills among pupils.
* Implement strategies to manage and address individual sensory needs sensitively.
* Assist students in accessing the curriculum fully and engaging with learning activities.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Contribute to the positive behaviour management plans and personal development of students.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
* You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students and colleagues alike.
* You have previous experience working in an SEN setting, ideally with secondary-aged students.
* You are adaptable, patient, and resourceful, capable of responding effectively to diverse student needs.
* You are committed to promoting an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued.
* You hold relevant qualifications or professional development in supporting students with ASD.
