We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a respected school community within the West Midlands, starting in September 2026 on a long-term, permanent contract. This vital role involves inspiring secondary-aged students to explore the creative and practical aspects of DT, fostering their innovative thinking and practical skills within a supportive educational environment. You will be instrumental in shaping young minds, encouraging a passion for design, technology, and problem-solving across various material areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons across key stages, stimulating creativity and practical application.
* Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students, providing constructive feedback.
* Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment, ensuring all equipment is used responsibly and effectively.
* Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources, enhancing the DT curriculum.
* Participate in extracurricular activities related to Design and Technology, enriching student experience and community spirit.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support the holistic development of all learners.
About You
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, suitable for teaching Design and Technology at secondary level.
* Possess a genuine passion for Design and Technology, eager to share your expertise and inspire students.
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills, creating a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
* Be a collaborative team player, keen to contribute positively to a vibrant school community.
* Show a commitment to continuous professional development and fostering student achievement.
* We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as well as experienced professionals on the Main Pay Scale (MPS) or Upper Pay Scale (UPS).
