A flourishing school in Havering is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision. This vital role involves supporting secondary pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, fostering a positive learning environment. You will play a crucial part in behaviour support, helping students develop emotional regulation strategies and facilitating their successful reintegration into learning. We are open to discussing various contract options, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent positions, starting as soon as possible. This role offers a competitive daily rate of £95 - £120.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to secondary pupils with SEMH needs within a specialist setting.
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote a calm and focused environment.
* Guide students in developing essential emotional regulation skills.
* Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual learning goals.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being.
* Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging activities designed to foster academic and personal growth.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.
* Proven experience working with secondary-aged pupils in an SEN context is highly desirable.
* You demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* An ability to implement positive behaviour support techniques effectively is essential.
* You are an excellent communicator, capable of building strong rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
