SEN Teaching Assistant

A well-established school in East London is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join its specialist primary provision. This rewarding opportunity involves supporting pupils with complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties. You will work closely with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, assisting with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). We are looking for individuals available for an immediate start, with flexible contract options ranging from daily supply and short-term placements to long-term and permanent roles. The daily rate for this vital position is £90 - £115, dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support for individual pupils in line with their EHCP objectives.
* Facilitate engagement and learning within small group activities, adapting to diverse needs.
* Implement specific strategies to support pupils with ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties effectively.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure holistic development.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to assessments and future planning.
* Contribute to maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all children.
About You
* Demonstrate proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally within a primary setting.
* Possess a strong understanding of various complex learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Show a proactive, patient, and resilient approach to supporting individual learning journeys.
* Be adaptable to different classroom dynamics and individual pupil requirements.
* Hold a commitment to continuous professional development in the field of SEN support.
