About the Role
A dynamic secondary school specialising in special educational needs is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a pupil with complex needs. This vital role involves supporting the student's access to the curriculum, diligently working towards their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, and fostering crucial life skills and independence. We are looking for an individual ready to make an immediate impact within a supportive and inclusive environment, with opportunities for various contract lengths.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver personalised 1:1 support to a secondary pupil requiring specialised assistance.
* Implement and monitor Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) objectives effectively.
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement with and access to the mainstream or adapted curriculum.
* Champion the development of crucial independence and essential life skills.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to review meetings.

About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting pupils with complex special educational needs.
* Exhibit a strong understanding of EHCPs and their practical application within an educational setting.
* Capable of effectively engaging and motivating secondary-aged pupils.
* Committed to fostering independence and enhancing life skills for young people.
* Display excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, building positive relationships.
* Hold relevant qualifications or professional development in SEN support.
