A highly regarded school in the Braintree area is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide focused support for a primary pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or sensory impairment. This vital role involves creating an enriching and supportive learning experience, implementing personalised strategies, and fostering the pupil's development within an inclusive primary SEN setting. We are considering candidates for immediate starts on a long-term, daily supply, or permanent basis, offering a daily rate of £85 - £110, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent and compassionate 1:1 support tailored to the specific needs of a primary pupil.
* Successfully implement Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and individualised learning goals.
* Establish a strong, positive rapport with the pupil to encourage engagement and trust.
* Facilitate access to the curriculum through adapted resources and differentiated activities.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers, the SENCO, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach.
* Monitor and accurately record the pupil's progress, contributing to regular reviews and assessments.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs, including ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment.
* Your approach is characterised by exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience.
* You are skilled at building meaningful relationships with pupils and their families.
* A clear understanding of EHCPs and their practical application in a primary setting is essential.
* You exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
* You are available for a long-term, daily supply, or permanent commitment in the South East region.
