An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a inclusive school in the Watford area of Hertfordshire, specialising in primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This vital role involves building strong therapeutic relationships with students, skilfully managing challenging behaviours, and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum. We are seeking committed professionals for long-term, daily supply, or permanent contracts, with a competitive salary of £150 - £250 per day, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver dynamic and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual learning styles of primary pupils with SEMH.
* Develop and implement effective individual education plans (IEPs) to support academic and personal growth.
* Cultivate positive and therapeutic relationships with students, fostering trust and emotional development.
* Proactively manage challenging behaviours through consistent and restorative strategies.
* Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive student support.
* Accurately assess and record student progress, providing regular feedback and contributing to reviews.
About You
* You possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and hold relevant primary teaching experience.
* You have demonstrable experience working effectively with primary-aged children presenting with SEMH needs.
* Your ability to build strong rapport with vulnerable pupils and manage complex behaviours is proven.
* You approach your work with resilience, patience, and a genuine commitment to student well-being.
* Exceptional communication and collaborative team-working skills are essential for this role.
