A respected school is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their supportive primary provision. This vital role involves delivering engaging and differentiated lessons within a specialist setting for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. You will be instrumental in fostering positive therapeutic relationships, expertly managing challenging behaviour, and creating a nurturing learning environment that promotes pupil progress and well-being. We are considering candidates for long-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, offering flexibility to suit the right professional.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver highly engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to primary pupils with SEMH needs.
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting a calm and focused classroom atmosphere.
* Cultivate strong, therapeutic relationships with pupils, fostering trust and encouraging positive engagement.
* Assess pupil progress regularly, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning requirements.
* Collaborate effectively with support staff and colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to pupil development.
* Contribute positively to the wider school community and its commitment to pupil well-being.
About You
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and possess a genuine passion for working with pupils with SEMH needs.
* Demonstrate proven experience in a primary SEN setting, ideally within an SEMH provision or PRU.
* Possess excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach to complex situations.
* Skilled in building rapport and developing meaningful therapeutic relationships with children.
* Committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for every child.
* Eager to embrace professional development and contribute to a thriving educational team.
