About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join an exceptional school in the West Midlands, supporting primary pupils within a specialist autism provision. This rewarding role involves providing tailored assistance to children on the autism spectrum, fostering their development and engagement within a structured and nurturing environment. You will be instrumental in implementing effective communication strategies, managing sensory needs, and supporting structured routines, contributing significantly to positive learning outcomes. This opportunity offers various contract options, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, and permanent arrangements, starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities
* Implement tailored learning activities and structured routines within the specialist provision.
* Provide crucial communication support, utilising various strategies to enhance pupil understanding and expression.
* Assist with the development and application of sensory strategies to create an optimal learning environment.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for primary pupils with diverse needs.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and adapt support plans.
* Encourage the social and emotional development of pupils, promoting positive interactions.

About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting primary-aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
* Exhibit a genuine passion for working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport with pupils and staff.
* Show a proactive and adaptable approach, capable of responding to individual pupil needs effectively.
* Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEN support, particularly related to autism.
* Are committed to continuous professional development and making a tangible difference in children's lives.
