A forward-thinking primary school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide crucial, individualised assistance to a pupil with complex needs, which may include Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or sensory impairment. This rewarding long-term opportunity, available immediately, involves fostering a strong rapport and diligently working to support the pupil's development within a nurturing educational environment. You will receive a competitive daily rate of £85 - £110 for your invaluable contribution.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the specific complex needs of a primary pupil.
* Build and maintain a strong, positive rapport with the pupil to foster trust and engagement.
* Diligently implement individualised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and strategies.
* Collaborate effectively with therapists and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Monitor and record the pupil's progress, adapting approaches as necessary to maximise learning.
* Facilitate the pupil's inclusion within school life, promoting independence and participation.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly complex needs.
* You exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to learning.
* You are an excellent communicator, capable of building effective relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
* You are proactive and resourceful, able to adapt quickly to diverse situations.
* You hold a genuine passion for making a significant difference in a child's educational journey.
* Relevant qualifications in SEN support or teaching assistance are highly advantageous.
