About the Role
A forward-thinking school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join our supportive community in Harlow, Essex. This vital role involves providing comprehensive, individualised support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs. You will be instrumental in helping them access the curriculum, achieve their EHCP targets, and develop crucial independence and life skills. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, with opportunities for various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, or permanent positions, offering competitive daily rates between £85 and £110.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 assistance to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Implement and monitor targets outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement with and access to the full secondary curriculum.
* Champion the development of essential independence and vital life skills.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for the pupil.

About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting pupils with complex special educational needs, ideally within a secondary setting.
* A strong understanding of EHCPs and their practical application is essential.
* You are an empathetic, patient, and resilient individual, capable of adapting support strategies as needed.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must for effective collaboration.
* You are deeply committed to fostering a pupil's academic progress and personal development.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are highly desirable.
