This pivotal role involves providing bespoke, intensive support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs, meticulously following EHCP targets to ensure full curriculum access and foster the development of crucial independence and life skills. This position offers the prospect of long-term engagement, with daily supply and permanent contract opportunities available for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver targeted 1:1 support to a secondary pupil with intricate learning requirements.
* Implement individualised strategies derived from the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate seamless access to all areas of the secondary curriculum, adapting resources where necessary.
* Actively promote and develop the pupil's independence and essential life skills within the school setting.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCo, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Systematically monitor and record pupil progress, contributing valuable insights to reviews.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience in providing 1:1 support to young people with complex SEN.
* Exhibit a patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to pupil development.
* Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, building trust and rapport with pupils and colleagues.
* Be proactive and adaptable, responding effectively to evolving pupil needs and challenges.
* Hold a genuine passion for inclusive education and fostering positive learning environments.
* Relevant qualifications or professional development in SEN support are highly advantageous.
