A progressive school is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their vibrant primary provision, commencing as soon as possible. This crucial role involves working with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, fostering therapeutic relationships, implementing effective strategies for managing challenging behaviour, and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning styles. Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver differentiated, engaging primary curriculum lessons across various subjects.
* Establish and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with pupils, promoting their emotional well-being.
* Implement proactive and positive behaviour management strategies to support a calm learning environment.
* Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, support staff, and external professionals.
* Monitor and assess pupil progress rigorously, adapting teaching methods as necessary to meet diverse needs.
* Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom that encourages pupil participation and growth.
About You
* You possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist setting or PRU.
* You demonstrate a proven ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience, empathy, and consistent strategies.
* You are passionate about making a significant difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
* You exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
* You are adaptable and resilient, thriving in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.
* Applications are welcomed from Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as well as experienced teachers at MPS or UPS levels.
