Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to secondary students with ASD, both individually and in small groups.
* Facilitate and encourage social communication opportunities within the school environment.
* Implement strategies to manage sensory needs effectively, creating a calm and supportive atmosphere.
* Assist students in accessing and engaging with the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans.
* Monitor student progress, providing clear feedback and adapting support as required to promote independence.
About You
* Possess previous experience supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ideally in a secondary school setting.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the diverse needs of students on the autism spectrum.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with students and staff.
* Be patient, resilient, and proactive in adapting support strategies to meet individual student requirements.
* Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEN, particularly related to autism, is highly desirable.
* Show a genuine passion for making a significant difference in the educational journey of every student.
