This challenging and rewarding role involves providing crucial support to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within a specialist SEN primary school environment. You will work closely with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, assisting those with complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties, fostering their development and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex special educational needs.
* Implement individualised learning plans and therapeutic strategies for children with EHCPs.
* Assist in the management of specific learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes pupil progress.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to assessment and review processes.
About You
* Demonstrable experience supporting primary-aged children with special educational needs.
* Proven ability to work effectively with pupils with ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Possess exceptional patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
* Be a proactive and adaptable individual with strong communication skills.
* Hold relevant qualifications or professional development in SEN support.
