About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to provide specialist support within a focused provision. This vital role involves implementing structured routines, utilising effective sensory strategies, and enhancing communication support for primary pupils on the autism spectrum, empowering them to thrive academically and socially. You will contribute to creating an environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored support to primary pupils with ASD, promoting engagement and independent learning.
* Implement structured routines and visual aids to create a predictable and supportive environment.
* Utilise a range of sensory strategies to meet individual needs and support emotional regulation.
* Facilitate effective communication, encouraging pupils to express themselves confidently and clearly.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and specialist staff to monitor pupil progress and adapt strategies.
* Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued, understood, and encouraged.

About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting primary pupils with special educational needs, particularly ASD.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, adapting to individual pupil needs.
* Exhibit patience, empathy, and resilience in a dynamic and rewarding educational setting.
* Have previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum, ideally within a primary phase.
* Be proactive in implementing support strategies and seeking continuous professional development.
* Hold relevant qualifications or a strong understanding of best practices for supporting pupils with ASD.
