This vital role involves closely following Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, ensuring the pupil can effectively access the curriculum. You will play a crucial part in fostering their independence and developing essential life skills within a supportive educational environment. We are considering candidates for an immediate start, with opportunities available on a long-term, daily supply, or permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a secondary-aged pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Implement and monitor individualised targets outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement and understanding across a broad curriculum.
* Champion the development of the pupil's independence in all school activities.
* Actively promote and teach essential life skills relevant to the pupil's growth.
* Collaborate effectively with teachers and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
About You
* You possess proven experience supporting pupils with complex special educational needs, ideally within a secondary setting.
* A strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their implementation is essential.
* You demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* A genuine passion for fostering the academic and personal growth of young people drives your approach.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
