A highly regarded school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a primary-aged pupil with complex needs, potentially including ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment. This long-term opportunity, which can also accommodate daily supply or permanent contracts, involves implementing personalised EHCP targets and collaborating closely with therapists to foster the pupil's development and well-being, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent, individualised support for a pupil with complex Special Educational Needs.
* Implement specific targets and strategies outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan.
* Liaise effectively with external professionals, including speech and occupational therapists, to ensure cohesive support.
* Support the pupil's engagement in learning activities, adapting approaches as necessary.
* Foster the pupil's communication skills and promote their independence within the school environment.
* Maintain accurate records of the pupil's progress and contribute to review meetings.
About You
* Demonstrable experience working 1:1 with pupils who have complex SEN, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* A compassionate and patient approach, committed to promoting positive outcomes for every child.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of building strong rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to respond effectively to individual needs and situations.
