A forward-thinking school is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join their primary phase, providing specialist support to pupils on the autism spectrum within a nurturing SEN environment. This vital role involves implementing structured routines, sensory strategies, and effective communication support within a specialist ASD provision. We are looking for an individual who can make a real difference, with opportunities for various contract types, including long-term and permanent positions, starting immediately and offering a competitive daily rate of £90 - £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to primary pupils diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
* Implement and maintain structured routines to promote predictability and learning.
* Assist in developing and utilising effective sensory strategies for individual pupils.
* Facilitate and support various communication methods tailored to pupils' needs.
* Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
* Work collaboratively with class teachers and other professionals to monitor pupil progress.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting primary-aged children with ASD.
* Demonstrate previous experience or a strong understanding of autism spectrum conditions.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport effectively.
* Show a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to daily challenges.
* Be adaptable and proactive, responding positively to individual pupil needs.
* Hold relevant qualifications or professional development in SEN support (desirable).
