SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide vital support, assisting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role involves empowering individuals to manage behaviour, develop emotional regulation skills, and successfully reintegrate into their educational journey. We offer a variety of contract options including long-term, short-term, daily supply, and permanent roles, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to secondary pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
* Assist pupils in developing effective strategies for emotional regulation and self-management.
* Implement positive behaviour management techniques to create a calm and focused learning atmosphere.
* Facilitate the successful reintegration of pupils into classroom learning and wider school activities.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and specialists to deliver a holistic support plan.
* Contribute to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued.
About You
* Demonstrable experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, preferably in a secondary setting.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with pupils and staff.
* A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
* Commitment to promoting a positive learning experience for all pupils.
* An understanding of diverse strategies to encourage engagement and academic progress.
