About the Role
This opportunity involves providing crucial support to primary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs within a supportive school environment. You will be instrumental in fostering positive relationships and creating a nurturing atmosphere where every child can thrive. Working within a specialist SEMH setting, this role requires an empathetic and proactive individual ready to make a significant difference to pupils' daily experiences and long-term development. You will engage directly with children, guiding them through their learning journey and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated one-to-one and small group support to primary pupils with SEMH requirements.
* Implement effective de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviours calmly and professionally.
* Mentor pupils, building strong rapport and fostering positive social interactions.
* Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
* Support pupils' emotional regulation, self-awareness, and social skill development throughout the school day.
* Contribute proactively to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all.

About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting primary-aged children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
* Prior experience working within an SEN or specialist educational setting is highly desirable.
* You demonstrate excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, essential for building trust.
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations is paramount.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development in supporting vulnerable young people.
* You hold a relevant qualification or have practical experience demonstrating your capability in this field.
