A well-established school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide crucial support to a secondary pupil with complex needs. This vital role involves meticulously following EHCP targets to ensure the pupil can effectively access the curriculum and develop essential independence and life skills. We are looking for an individual who can commit to a long-term position, with opportunities for daily supply or a permanent contract, starting as soon as possible, offering a competitive daily rate of £85 - £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to a secondary pupil with complex Special Educational Needs.
* Implement and monitor individualised education plan (EHCP) targets effectively.
* Facilitate the pupil's access to the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Actively promote and develop the pupil's independence and crucial life skills.
* Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to assess progress and adapt strategies.
* Maintain accurate records of the pupil's development, achievements, and challenges.
About You
* Demonstrable experience supporting pupils with complex Special Educational Needs, particularly in a 1:1 capacity.
* A genuine passion for fostering the development and well-being of young people.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of building strong rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
