SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive school community in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, supporting primary-aged pupils. This rewarding opportunity involves providing crucial 1:1 and small group support to children with complex learning needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, often working with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). We offer a range of flexible contract options, from daily supply and short-term assignments to long-term and permanent roles, with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to primary pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans.
* Facilitate engaging small group learning sessions for children requiring additional assistance.
* Assist pupils with a variety of complex learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to implement individualised learning plans.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing valuable observations and feedback to the wider team.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly in a primary setting.
* Have a strong understanding of various complex learning needs such as ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Be adept at working with and implementing strategies related to Education, Health and Care Plans.
* Demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting pupils through their learning journey.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
* Show a genuine commitment to nurturing the academic, social, and emotional development of every child.
