This crucial role involves providing specialised support to secondary students on the autism spectrum, focusing on enhancing social communication, managing sensory needs, and facilitating access to the curriculum. We offer flexible contract options, including daily supply, short-term, long-term, and permanent roles, with an immediate start available, offering a daily rate between £90 and £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to secondary students identified with autism spectrum conditions.
* Implement strategies to enhance social communication skills and foster positive interactions.
* Effectively manage sensory needs within the learning environment to promote student well-being.
* Assist students in accessing and engaging with the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure a cohesive support approach.
* Contribute to creating an inclusive and understanding educational setting.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of students with ASD.
* Demonstrate previous experience working effectively with young people on the autism spectrum, preferably within a secondary setting.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students and colleagues.
* Show a proactive and patient approach to managing diverse student needs and challenging situations.
* Be adept at implementing strategies to support social communication and sensory regulation.
* Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is highly desirable.
