About the Role
At an innovative school in Bedfordshire, we are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide bespoke, long-term assistance to a secondary pupil with complex needs, starting as soon as possible. This pivotal role involves meticulously following EHCP targets, facilitating curriculum access, and championing the development of independence and essential life skills for the student.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated, one-to-one support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Implement and track progress against Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets effectively.
* Facilitate the pupil's full access to the curriculum, adapting materials as necessary.
* Encourage the development of crucial independence and essential life skills.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to relevant stakeholders.

About You
* Possess demonstrable experience in providing 1:1 support to secondary-aged pupils with complex SEN.
* Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their implementation.
* Demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Hold a genuine passion for fostering the growth and development of young people with additional needs.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to making a tangible difference in a pupil's educational journey.
