About the Role
A thriving school in South London is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide crucial support to primary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This challenging yet incredibly rewarding role involves creating a nurturing environment where young learners can flourish, overcome barriers, and achieve their full potential. You will be instrumental in fostering positive relationships and implementing effective strategies to manage complex behaviours, with opportunities for both immediate engagement and longer-term commitment, earning a competitive daily rate of £95 - £120.

Key Responsibilities
* Implement tailored support plans to address the specific social, emotional, and mental health needs of primary-aged pupils.
* Proactively engage pupils in learning activities, adapting approaches to maintain focus and participation.
* Master effective de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations calmly and constructively.
* Mentor pupils to develop essential coping strategies and improve their self-regulation skills.
* Cultivate strong, positive relationships with pupils, fostering trust and a sense of belonging.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

About You
* Possess a genuine passion for making a significant difference in the lives of primary pupils facing SEMH challenges.
* Demonstrate previous experience supporting young people with complex social, emotional, or mental health needs.
* Exhibit exceptional resilience, patience, and a calm demeanour in demanding situations.
* Skilled in building rapport quickly and establishing meaningful connections with children.
* Proactive in identifying potential issues and implementing preventative support strategies.
