1:1 SEN Support Assistant

We are actively seeking a compassionate and highly skilled 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide dedicated assistance to a primary-aged pupil with complex special educational needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairments. This vital role offers various contract options, from long-term placements and daily supply opportunities to permanent positions, starting as soon as possible. You will play a pivotal part in the pupil's daily learning journey, empowering them to achieve their full potential within a nurturing primary setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored 1:1 support to a specific primary pupil, addressing their unique learning and developmental needs.
* Successfully implement individualised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and strategies.
* Cultivate a safe, stimulating, and positive learning environment that encourages engagement.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers, parents, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach.
* Carefully monitor and accurately record pupil progress, contributing to regular reviews.
* Assist in promoting the pupil's independence and developing crucial communication and life skills.
About You
* Demonstrable experience working with children with complex Special Educational Needs, including ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment.
* Possess exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting vulnerable pupils.
* Exhibit strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
* Proficient in building positive rapport quickly with children, staff, and families.
* Committed to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
