About the Role
A dedicated school in Hertfordshire is actively seeking a compassionate 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join its dynamic secondary phase team. This vital role involves providing dedicated, individualised support to a secondary pupil with complex needs, ensuring they can fully access their educational journey. You will be instrumental in following Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, supporting curriculum engagement, and fostering the development of crucial independence and life skills. We are looking for a committed individual available for an immediate start, offering flexible contract options from daily supply to a long-term permanent position, with an attractive daily rate ranging from £85 to £110.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide focused, one-to-one assistance to a secondary pupil requiring specialised support.
* Implement and consistently monitor Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) objectives.
* Facilitate the pupil's access to all areas of the secondary curriculum effectively.
* Actively promote and encourage the development of personal independence.
* Nurture essential life skills to empower the pupil for future success.
* Collaborate constructively with teaching staff and other educational professionals.

About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs.
* Demonstrate previous experience working with secondary pupils with complex needs.
* Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of EHCPs and their practical application.
* Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships.
* Show a proactive, patient, and empathetic approach in all interactions.
* Be highly adaptable and resilient within a busy and diverse school environment.
