About the Role
A progressive school is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team, providing crucial support to primary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This vital role involves creating a nurturing environment, utilising de-escalation techniques, offering mentoring, and building strong positive relationships with children to foster their academic and personal growth. We are looking for an individual ready to start as soon as possible, bringing passion and commitment to a specialist SEMH setting.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to primary pupils experiencing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
* Implement effective de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviours calmly and constructively.
* Offer one-to-one and small group mentoring to help pupils develop coping mechanisms and social skills.
* Cultivate strong, positive, and trusting relationships with pupils, fostering a sense of belonging.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities, adapting approaches for individual needs.
* Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all children.

About You
* You possess proven experience working with primary-aged children, particularly those with SEMH needs.
* You demonstrate excellent communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport with young people.
* You are proficient in utilising de-escalation techniques and managing challenging situations with composure.
* Your approach is characterised by empathy, patience, and unwavering resilience.
* You are passionate about making a tangible difference to the lives and educational journeys of vulnerable pupils.
* You are seeking a role with flexible contract options, ranging from daily supply to long-term or permanent placements.
