About the Role
A forward-thinking school in South London is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join their specialist setting, commencing as soon as possible. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive support to secondary students on the autism spectrum, facilitating their social communication, effectively managing sensory needs, and enabling full access to the curriculum. We are looking for an individual passionate about making a significant difference, with opportunities for daily supply, short-term, long-term, and permanent contracts available, offering a competitive daily rate between £90 and £115.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored assistance to secondary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, fostering a supportive learning environment.
* Implement strategies to facilitate and enhance students' social communication skills.
* Proactively manage and respond to students' sensory needs, ensuring their comfort and engagement.
* Support access to the secondary curriculum, adapting materials and approaches as required.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and therapists to achieve individual student goals.
* Monitor and record student progress, contributing to ongoing assessments and development plans.

About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ideally within a secondary school setting.
* Your approach is patient, empathetic, and highly resilient when facing daily challenges.
* You are adept at implementing effective communication strategies for diverse needs.
* A strong understanding of various sensory profiles and how to manage them is essential.
* You can adapt your support methods to ensure individual students achieve their full potential.
* You are a proactive team player, committed to fostering an inclusive educational environment.
