A well-established school in East London is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide individualised assistance for a secondary pupil with complex needs. This vital role involves supporting the pupil to access their curriculum, meticulously following Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, and fostering essential independence and life skills. We are looking for an individual who can start as soon as possible, with contract options ranging from daily supply to long-term or permanent positions, offering a competitive daily rate between £85 and £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to a secondary pupil, addressing their unique learning requirements.
* Work collaboratively to implement strategies outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Assist the pupil in accessing a broad and balanced curriculum across various subjects.
* Encourage and support the development of vital independence skills within the school environment.
* Contribute to the pupil's personal growth by fostering essential life skills.
* Maintain clear communication with teaching staff and other professionals regarding pupil progress and well-being.
About You
* You possess prior experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with complex Special Educational Needs.
* You demonstrate a solid understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their implementation.
* You are a patient, empathetic, and resilient individual, committed to making a difference.
* You have a genuine passion for supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
