In a innovative school located in West London, we are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to empower secondary pupils within our specialist provision. This challenging yet incredibly rewarding role involves providing targeted support for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, fostering a positive learning environment. You will play a crucial part in guiding pupils through behavioural challenges, developing their emotional regulation skills, and facilitating their successful reintegration into academic learning and wider school life. This immediate start opportunity offers a variety of contract types, from daily supply to long-term and permanent positions, paying £95-£120 per day, allowing for flexibility in your commitment.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement tailored strategies to manage challenging behaviours effectively and constructively.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils requiring assistance with emotional regulation.
* Collaborate with class teachers and specialist staff to adapt learning materials for individual needs.
* Support the successful reintegration of pupils into mainstream lessons and school routines.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to regular review meetings and assessments.
* Foster a safe, understanding, and nurturing environment where pupils feel valued and supported.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting secondary pupils with complex SEMH needs.
* You demonstrate resilience and a proactive approach to managing challenging behaviours with empathy.
* You have prior experience working in an educational setting, ideally with SEN or SEMH pupils.
* You are an exceptional communicator, adept at building rapport with students, staff, and parents.
