About the Role
A well-established school within a vibrant South London community is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join their specialist provision. This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to primary pupils on the autism spectrum, fostering their development and independence within a nurturing environment. You will be instrumental in implementing structured routines, engaging sensory strategies, and facilitating effective communication support for individual learners. This opportunity offers various contract options, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, and permanent positions, with an immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted and consistent support to primary pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* Implement individualised learning plans, structured routines, and visual supports.
* Utilise a range of sensory strategies to create an accessible and calm learning environment.
* Facilitate and encourage effective communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure holistic pupil progress.
* Monitor and accurately record pupil observations, progress, and achievements to inform future planning.

About You
* You possess proven experience supporting primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* A strong understanding of different communication methods and sensory processing needs is essential.
* You demonstrate the ability to adapt support strategies effectively to meet diverse individual requirements.
* Your approach is characterised by patience, empathy, resilience, and a positive outlook.
* You exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and pupils.
* A genuine commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment is paramount.
