We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic school in Essex, specialising in supporting primary pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This vital role involves providing tailored assistance to young learners within a nurturing environment, fostering their development and well-being. You will have the opportunity to work across various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent positions, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to primary pupils with identified SEMH needs.
* Implement effective strategies for de-escalation and positive behaviour management.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students to promote their engagement and progress.
* Assist with the delivery of individualised learning plans and educational activities.
* Contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers and other educational professionals.
About You
* Proven experience supporting children with SEMH needs, ideally within a primary setting.
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to managing challenging situations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to various stakeholders.
* Ability to inspire trust and build positive rapport with young people.
* A proactive, resilient, and adaptable mindset.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and best practice.
