SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities
• Provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups with Special Educational Needs within the classroom setting.
• Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support strategies, adapting materials as needed.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging pupil engagement and independence.
• Collaborate effectively with class teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to monitor pupil progress and well-being.
• Support pupils' social and emotional development, promoting positive peer relationships and self-esteem.
• Contribute to the creation of engaging and accessible learning resources, ensuring all pupils can participate fully.
About You
• Possess a genuine passion for supporting the development and well-being of children with Special Educational Needs.
• Hold relevant experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within an SEN support capacity.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Exhibit a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach, understanding the diverse needs of learners.
• Be adaptable and proactive, able to respond effectively to varying classroom dynamics and individual pupil requirements.
• Have a commitment to continuous professional development and contributing positively to a school community.
