About the Role
Join a dynamic school seeking a dedicated PMLD Support Assistant to provide crucial, long-term support within a specialist primary provision. This deeply rewarding role involves empowering pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties to access a rich and stimulating curriculum, fostering their development and independence every day. Key Responsibilities
* Provide attentive, individualised support to pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), addressing their unique educational and personal needs.
* Implement tailored therapy programmes and sensory stimulation activities, working collaboratively with specialists to maximise pupil engagement and progress.
* Assist with personal care routines with dignity and respect, ensuring the comfort and well-being of all pupils.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe, stimulating, and accessible learning environment that promotes exploration.
* Observe and accurately record pupil progress and behaviours, contributing valuable insights to assessments and individual education plans.
* Foster effective communication with pupils, using a variety of methods to understand and respond to their diverse requirements.

About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting children with profound and multiple learning difficulties, demonstrating unwavering commitment and empathy.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, resilience, and a calm demeanour, even in demanding situations.
* Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, adapting approaches to suit individual pupil needs.
* Be proactive, organised, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a dedicated team.
* Show a commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to embrace new strategies and learning.
* Hold relevant experience or qualifications in SEN support, particularly with PMLD, though a desire to learn and develop is highly valued.
