About the Role
A supportive school in the Hertford area of Hertfordshire is actively seeking an enthusiastic ASD Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive support to secondary students on the autism spectrum within a specialist SEN setting. You will play a crucial part in fostering an inclusive learning environment and enabling students to thrive academically and socially. We are looking for individuals available for a variety of contract types, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, and permanent positions, with an immediate start available. The daily rate for this fulfilling role ranges from £90 to £115, depending on experience and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to secondary students with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
* Facilitate effective social communication skills and promote positive peer interactions.
* Implement strategies to manage sensory needs, creating a calm and conducive learning environment.
* Assist students in accessing the curriculum across various subjects, adapting materials as required.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to develop and review individual support plans.
* Monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and contributing to assessments.

About You
* You possess relevant experience supporting young people on the autism spectrum, ideally within a secondary setting.
* A strong understanding of the challenges and strengths associated with ASD is essential.
* You demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in your approach.
* Excellent communication skills are vital for engaging with students, staff, and parents.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and capable of implementing diverse support strategies.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students is paramount.
