This is a rewarding opportunity to join a well-established school in East London as a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant. You will provide crucial, tailored assistance to a secondary pupil with complex needs, ensuring their full participation and development. This vital role involves diligently following EHCP targets, helping the pupil access a broad curriculum, and fostering the growth of independence and essential life skills. We are looking for an individual available for an immediate start, with contract options ranging from long-term and daily supply to a permanent position. A daily rate of £85 - £110 is offered for this impactful role.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke 1:1 support for a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Diligently implement personalised strategies detailed within the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan.
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement and access across the secondary curriculum.
* Champion the development of the pupil's independence in various school settings.
* Guide and support the pupil in acquiring practical and essential life skills.
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff.

* Possess demonstrable experience supporting young people with complex special educational needs.
* Hold a clear understanding of EHCPs and their practical application in a school setting.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Demonstrate a proactive and highly adaptable approach to individualised support.
