Key Responsibilities
* Provide personalised assistance to secondary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, promoting their independence and learning.
* Implement tailored strategies to facilitate effective social communication skills and positive interactions amongst pupils.
* Proactively manage and respond to students' sensory needs, creating a calm and supportive classroom environment.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff to adapt learning materials, ensuring all students can access and engage with the curriculum.
* Monitor student progress, record observations, and contribute to individual education plans and assessments.
* Support students during transitions and breaks, fostering a sense of security and routine throughout the school day.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
* Demonstrable experience working effectively with secondary school-aged students in an SEN capacity.
* An understanding of various communication strategies and sensory processing challenges associated with ASD.
