A highly regarded school in Essex is seeking a dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join its specialist primary team. You will be responsible for teaching small groups of pupils, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), adapting the national curriculum to meet their diverse learning needs. This is a crucial role involving close collaboration with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to foster a supportive and effective learning environment for every child. We are looking for an individual available to start as soon as possible, with various contract options including long-term, short-term, daily supply, and permanent positions available to suit your preferences.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to small groups of primary-aged pupils with special educational needs.
* Adapt the national curriculum effectively to address individual EHCP targets and learning styles.
* Develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to specific pupil requirements.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Regularly assess pupil progress, record achievements, and provide constructive feedback.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and well-being.
About You
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for this teaching position.
* Proven experience working with primary-aged pupils with special educational needs is required.
* A strong understanding of EHCPs and their practical implementation is highly valued.
* Ability to adapt the curriculum creatively to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for effective team collaboration and family engagement.
