Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant - Primary School in Oxford

Are you a patient, compassionate, and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with behavioural needs? We are working on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Oxford, seeking a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join the dedicated team.

About the Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to pupils who may face challenges in their learning due to behavioural or emotional needs. You will work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to help children develop positive behaviours, build confidence, and engage fully in school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive learning experiences
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to support children's individual learning plans
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to create a supportive environment
  • Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning space for all students

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with behavioural or emotional needs (essential)
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to de-escalate challenging situations with confidence
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning or a related field (desirable but not essential)
